RC Helicopter for Aerial Photography

In early September of 2012 I got the "aerial photography-RC helicopter" bug.  It's afflicting lots of photographers these days.

First, I looked at very expensive Cinestar models from Quadrocopter.com.  I was almost ready to take a $cary dive and buy a "ready to fly" Cinestar 8 at over $15K.

After joining the multirotorforum.com community, I made a post and described my plan.

Since this was my first venture into the world of RC (radio control) I was then given the good advice to simmer down.  "Don't buy a Cinestar ready to fly. First, buy a less expensive multi-rotor like the DJI Innovations 550, and build it your self.  That's what I did. No regrets.  A stabilized platform on a Cinestar 8 is still my dream machine for aerial photography and video.

The purpose of this blog is to share my experiences with other who may be interested in getting starting with aerial photography and video, using and RC helicopters, more specifically multi-rotor helicopters.  I'll be updating the blog with new post about equipment, lessons learned etc.  I'll also make links to the new aerial photos I publish.
