DJI 550 Aerial Photography Multi rotor set-up

A fellow plusser at Google+ inquired about my aerial photography set up.  Instead of answering him directly, I figured posting the details in this blog would help other interested persons as well

I bought my Spectrum DX8 radio, DJI-550 air frame, NAZA M flight controller, GPS module, Fatshark FPV goggles, FPV camera, transmitter and receiver all from RC Hover in Foxboro Massachusetts. Jeremy is the proprieter there and he was very helpful.

At the same time a bought a Blade MXQ quad to learn to fly. I had the MXQ flying the night I got it home. Jeremy gave me a few extra batteries for it.

  1. Those Fatshark goggles are really cool! I'd never heard of them.

  2. They are the low end ones. Better ones are available. Someday FPV via HD video will be common.
